Chardonnay wine
Chardonnay is especially versatile because winemaking techniques strongly influence its flavor. Unoaked Chardonnay can taste fresh and citrusy, while oak-aged Chardonnay may develop vanilla, butter, toast, coconut, and caramel notes.
It is also one of the principal grapes used in Champagne, together with Pinot Noir and Meunier.
🌱 Growing Chardonnay
Chardonnay generally prefers moderate climates and well-drained soils. It can be productive but is susceptible to early-bud frost because it buds relatively early.
If you’re considering growing Chardonnay in the Philippines, climate management is particularly important because the country’s tropical conditions are very different from traditional Chardonnay-growing regions.
